I can provide ideas and designs, or produce work from you own ideas and designs to create something special and unique.

Is there a particular tree that has a special significance for you? Why not have something made from the wood? I have made toadstools from pruned or broken branches – I have even made vases from bar stool legs!!

Teaching

I am a qualified teacher (City & Guilds 7307) & usually teach on a 1 to 1 basis in my classroom. (I can come to your place dependent on distance etc) 

Lessons can be arranged to suit individual requirements and pockets from

TASTER SESSION  

A hands on introduction to the joys of making shavings! 

covering: 

Workshop Health & Safety; Do’s & Dont’s; Machinery & Timber

Use of tools & safety equipment provided

Usually 2-3 hours ish

Every participant WILL produce a piece to take home & impress friends & family!!

 Makes a great alternative gift no experience necessary, just bring your enthusiasm

LESSONS 

arranged for most aspects of turning, e.g. spindle turning; bowl turning; end grain hollowing, in fact, anything that need refinement, & are available in 2-6 hour formats

available e.g. four 2 hour lessons

1 or 2 day course (includes refreshments)

In woodturning there is no right or wrong way to use a tool-just a safe way or an unsafe one-let me take you along the safe route- it IS less painful

Various types of demonstrations are available for groups and organizations including general “see how it’s done” demo (usually 1 – 2 hours) 

Wood Club demos

Full day demos for specialist organizations & corporate events

With a versatile approach to content I have demonstrated at various venues in the UK, Wood Clubs, Timber Suppliers, the odd Village Hall & once in a Forest!
